Indiea | Mini Session

Indiea has been a good friend of my sister, Kaylie, for a very long time now.  Now that she is on her mission, when I get together with Indiea, we love talking about her and how much we miss her.  Indiea has some pretty exciting things coming up in the next few months.  She will be graduating and getting married! I can't believe how busy she must be. But despite how hectic her schedule is, she was more then willing to come out with me and take these fun shots.

{better late than never}

Hello! I sure hope you remember me...It seems like the past week was crazier than ever.

It was filled with my baby being sick (for the first time), sleepless nights, a doctors appointment and family from out of town. It was a great weekend being able to get together with the family, however, I hate seeing my poor baby sick.  It was heartbreaking.

But I am back!

I have a week planned of great and exciting things.  My sister in-law is due to have her baby any day now and I am anxiously waiting by my phone.  I am also thinking about doing another giveaway this weekend...What do you think?  I had a great photo session a few weeks ago and I am very anxious to feature, as well.

Since my little baby boy was sick, I spent much time driving around so that he could at least get a few hours of sleep during the day time.  So, I grabbed my camera and drove to the "middle of nowhere."

a little valentines day love

It was Jocelyn and Ty's 6 month wedding anniversary, not too long ago and it was great to be able to capture their relationship with a fun valentines day theme photo shoot.  They were so much fun and totally up for anything.  It certainly was a crazy day...getting my car suck in the snow, but it was so much fun to work with them.  I couldn't have asked for a cuter couple to feature during this holiday!

{What to Wear Guide}

One of the very first question I get asked is "What should i wear?" What people wear in their photos really can make the pictures "pop."  I don't think that wearing all the same color and style makes a photo interesting.  The goal is to have everyone complement each other and not be too "matchy matchy."

It is important to avoid large logos and words, this will distract from the person.  But dont be afraid to wear interesting prints and patterns.

Layers and texture are a great way to create dimension to a photo.  It just takes the pictures to a whole different level.  As well, you are able to have a few different looks with one outfit. Just by taking your sweater off or adding a scarf will give the pictures a totally different look.  Chosing fun and bold colors will look beautiful and add brightness to your face.  It will grab attention and create an element of fun.

It is all about the details.  Adding any accessories and fun accents to an outfit show personality.  It is important to remember to be comfortable and have fun.  What you decide to wear reflects your personality and makes the photo shoot fun!

I put together a few style boards to inspire you for this valentines holiday.

2,3,10: J.Crew
1,3,5,6,7,8,9,11,12: Nordstrom

1,4,5,6: Nordstrom
7,8,9: J.Crew
2,3: Gilt

1,2,6,7,9: Mini Boden
3,4,5,8,10,11,12: Crewcuts

1,2: Old Navy
3,4,7,8: Nordstrom
9: Crewcuts

Now, go out and have fun and create cute valentine pictures!  If you have any really good ones, I wanna see! Attach a link below in a comment.

seriously addictive

Earlier this week, I dragged my husband out so that I could practice my photography in different lighting. I see these beautiful pictures with gorgeous sun flares and rich color but I have never been brave enough to try it. After lots of convincing and even a promise "no one will see them" I got him to stand I front of the camera. I did get his permission after to post these photos.

The great thing about this day, was after I was done experimenting, Tyler picked up the camera and started taking pictures of everything that was around. Birds, semi trucks, power lines etc. He actually got some really creative shots. He loved it and now knows why I love it so much! It's absolutely wonderful being able to share what you love, with who you love.

two months old

I was able to take photos of Sophie again.  Now she is two months and is a completely different looking baby.  She is a beautiful baby girl and I love to see how much she has changed in such a short amount of time.
Thank you so much, Carissa, for letting me take photos of your beautiful baby girl.
