sun and sea

I hope you all had a great holiday weekend, I sure did!

Living in Hawaii is great, but like moving anywhere, it takes some time to get adjusted. For a week, we would wake up at 6:00 in the morning because of the time difference. But we are now settled into our new place and able to have some fun. We drove around the island and stopped at some of the most popular spots such as Blow Hole, Pali Lookout, Waikiki and Hanauma Bay. I never get tired of Waikiki. It has fantastic shopping, great restaurants and lots of entertainment.

I took some photos of my parents for their anniversary, check out my facebook for a little sneak peak.

Palmer Family | Silverdale, Washington

I had such a great time with this family. They have the cutest kids and I could have taken pictures of them all day, if they would have let me. It has been fun to watch these kids grow. I remember when the twins were little and we were all eating tacos together. It's crazy how fast time goes.

washington love.

We have been in hawaii for only 5 days and I can't help but miss home.

I have been busy with a few photo shoots that I did while I was in home and check back later this week to see those photos. Also, I am creating an etsy shop (yikes)! I just started and it is not complete but let me know if you would be interested in purchasing any photos that you see. It will be available in a variety of sizes and digital copy.

Hello: Lifes Golden Moments

Happy Friday! I know you will love Darlene from Life's Golden Moments. She has incredible style, if you are new here, hope you enjoy and please feel free to become a follower and comment!
hi readers of leslie! isn't she an awesome photographer?! i love her work! i'm darlene from lifes golden moments. i want to share a few tips with you today on how to put together your style for a photoshoot. honestly, since it's mostly just me in the photos, it's easy. i only have to worry about myself!
the main thing i think about is the location i'm shooting at. then i base my outfits off of that and try to coordinate with the colors of the location.

this first set of photos were taken in a location with neutral colors.
i wore white, tan, and navy blue to keep the mood all the same.

this next location was against a very light peach barn with blue pastel windows.
i wore a light pink dress with black to separate myself from the backdrop. to add a little bright color i threw in a maroon clutch.

and lastly, this location had an earthy look to it with the green background. again, i chose a pink top and jeans. obviously, jeans go with everything!

this is my gorgeous sister in law, cristi, and her beautiful son, nixon. she's over at weeds to wishes and truly, modly, deeply.  we took these photos around valentines day, but she did an awesome job with putting their outfits together!

they coordinated perfectly with the location as well as together.
**notice, that you don't have to wear the same patterns in order to "match." Pick a basic color palette and work with that. If you look closely, there are four different "patterns" in their clothes, and it works!
cristi stuck to navy blue, mustard yellow, red, and gray.
i love everything about it!

i hope that you got something out of todays post :) please, stop by my blog anytime for more inspiration! i'd love to have you!
