a little just for us

In about three months, it is no longer going to be just me and Patrick at home. We are going to have a new baby that the both of us are going to have to get use to. I am enjoying every morning time snuggle and afternoon kiss I can get from this little boy, because soon I will be very busy with baby number 2. It is going to be a whole lot better when baby boy comes along, but it will be different and for now, I am going to enjoy these moments as much as possible.

year in review 2013

I know...it's the middle of the month, and I am really behind but last year was filled with a whole lot of great things! Patrick has turned into a little boy right before my eyes. It makes me a little teary eyed to think that Patrick can no longer be called "baby Patrick" thank heavens we have another little baby on the way to help my heart.

January: Last year we started off things right, with a trip to the Bahamas. I am dying to go back.
February: My younger sister came home from Chile, where she was serving a mission for our church.
March: We went to Disneyland for spring break, of course.
April: My husband graduated! Now we are both alumni of BYU-Idaho.
May: I moved to Washington for a few months, while Tyler goes across country to work.
June: We had a fun filled summer hanging out with grammy and papa and swim lessons.
July: Tyler finished work and came home! It was hard being away.
August: We moved to Blackfoot, Idaho for Tyler to start dental school. This is our little house.
September: Had a great year of work and got to photograph a few weddings over the summer.
October: We found out we're pregnant with baby number 2 and Patrick had a blast trick-or-treating.
November: No more diapers for Patrick. After many disgusting accidents, he is potty trained.
December: We spent a quiet Christmas hanging out with family and friends. This is Patrick with his cousin and he always wants to be holding Grants hand wherever they go.

Temple Square, Salt Lake City

Today, Tyler has started his second semester of school today. It is a bitter-sweet day. We have loved having three weeks of sleeping in, being lazy and having fun. But he's back at school and now it's just me and Patrick. Just the two of us. He is back to the books and we are back to days filled with random activities.

Well, so long Tyler. It was nice knowing you. See you in May (when our baby comes)!

I resolve to...

There are a few things I love about starting a new year.  A new planner, a new journal, new goals and getting to reflect on previous 2013 goals. I probably didn't go to the gym as often as I would have liked but looking back on the goals I set for my business, I am pretty proud of where I am.

I sat down yesterday and wrote a long list of personal and business goals, long term and short term goals and I hope I can keep this newly found motivation to get my through these lists.

A few of my personal goals are:
• start preparing for baby number 2 coming in May!
• learn how to love cooking and how to cook healthier.
• manage my work and family time better.

A few of my business goals are:
• update website and Facebook - those have been neglected.
• give myself photography assignments so I can continue to improve.
• create a working referral program.

Good luck to you and all that you hope to gain in 2014!

Baby Zoey | Newborn Photographer

I have a lot of catching up to do, and tonight I am excited to share this beautiful newborn session. I was lucky enough to capture this baby girl being born, and you can see that session here.

Hello, Baby!

The best thing that ever happened to me was little Patrick being born. I couldn't ask for anything more, except for maybe adding one more! Which might explain why I have been so absent from everything online. I have neglected my blog and facebook but will try to keep it updated now that the news is out!

Being pregnant this time has been a little different this time around. I have been extremely exhausted, and emotional (my poor husband). I will literally cry, just thinking about crying. And I have had the craziest craving…coconut is on the top of the list! I want coconut everyday so I made some delicious cookies that uses coconut oil, and you can get the recipe here.

We find out (hopefully) if it will be a boy or a girl next Monday! I am so excited to find out!
