I resolve to...

There are a few things I love about starting a new year.  A new planner, a new journal, new goals and getting to reflect on previous 2013 goals. I probably didn't go to the gym as often as I would have liked but looking back on the goals I set for my business, I am pretty proud of where I am.

I sat down yesterday and wrote a long list of personal and business goals, long term and short term goals and I hope I can keep this newly found motivation to get my through these lists.

A few of my personal goals are:
• start preparing for baby number 2 coming in May!
• learn how to love cooking and how to cook healthier.
• manage my work and family time better.

A few of my business goals are:
• update website and Facebook - those have been neglected.
• give myself photography assignments so I can continue to improve.
• create a working referral program.

Good luck to you and all that you hope to gain in 2014!

Fourth of July Gift Inspiration

The weather has been so nice here in the pacific northwest and we have been enjoying our summer to the fullest, with breakfast on the marina, barbecue's for dinner, and lots of swimming in between! I hope that you have been enjoying your week just as much as we have.

I have two very important people serving LDS missions so we put together a fun and patriotic package with lots of fun and easy ideas. Thank you Pinterest!

I wrapped chocolate kisses in paper covered toilet paper rolls and just decorated the roll with an "I Love America" stamp.

These cookies were so simple and delicious. The recipe is from here. And I got the sprinkles from the bakery section at the grocery store.

A really special Mother's Day

Spending any holiday without your husband is difficult and this was no exception. Tyler is busy working in Pennsylvania for a few (hopefully short) months but he managed to make yesterday a very special day for me.

He mailed me a rather small package and it arrived Friday, anxiously I waited to open it at his request until yesterday morning. We had an early morning Skype chat and he watched how surprised I was! He says that he had to go a little over board because I am taking care of my sometimes crazy son without his help. But he is helping me and supporting me by working hard and making the sacrifice to be away from us too.

I loved that I was able to spend this Mother' Day with my mom. My sister put together an awesome Shutterfly book of all of the pictures from our recent Disneyland vacation. It was the perfect gift for my mom! We also got to chat with my brother who is serving his mission in Houston, Texas. That, by far was the best gift my mom good have gotten. It was nice to see him and how well he was doing!

mother's day gift ideas

The great thing about having such a talented sister is I get to take lots of photos for her and she also has great gift ideas! She has a great blog with a ton of really creative ideas and this necklace is just one of many gift ideas. Check out her blog post over at The Elephant of Surprise about how these adorable necklaces will make the perfect Mother's Day gift.

I also wanted to show you a few more photos from my Mother's Day Mini Sessions! I really am so lucky to work with such cute kids and their moms. I can't wait to do this again next year!

Happy Easter

I hope you had a great Easter! We colored eggs, hung out with family and ate a delicious Easter dinner (I didn't cook). Patrick got to participate in his first Easter egg hunt and of course he enjoyed all of the goodies he found.

I also really wanted to get some good family pictures. We have had them done in the winter, but I love all the spring colors! So I set up my tripod and it turned out that Patrick thought it was funny to watch me run from my camera to the blanket! So he was actually smiling...it was amazing!
